Snoop Dogg was discovered by Dr. Dre in 1992 and has since been a force to be reckoned with among the rap community. Selling over 23 million albums in the United States and 25 million albums worldwide, the Doggfather has produced hit songs like “Drop It Like It’s Hot”, “Gin and Juice”, and “Who Am I” (“What’s my Name”). Now, it seems like Snoop Dogg is endeavoring on a new business venture: selling hot “doggs”.
Snoop Dogg’s lawyer, Lawrence Apolzon, filed an intent to use application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on December 06, 2021, for the phrase “Snoop Doggs” in international class 029. The goods and services claimed are for foods including hot dogs, hot dog sausages, and other like items for consumption on or off premises, the perfect recipe for a successful Fourth of July celebration.
So, the big question is: will we get to enjoy Snoop Hot Doggs this hot summer? Unfortunately, that is unlikely. Snoop Dogg has only filed an intent to use application, meaning he has not yet started selling those goods with the “Snoop Doggs” name, but has a bonefide intent to do so. However unlikely it is that the application will register during this summer, we never know for sure! So, let’s all enjoy the summer heat and see if Snoops Hot Diggity Doggs come to fruition!
