Last year I did something terrifying: I went solo; I hung out a shingle; I started my own law practice. I am SO happy to say that the decision was one of the best I’ve ever made! Working for myself has been both exciting and terrifying, mostly because I’ve come to realize the importance in taking ownership of and pride in my work product. But I’m very happy to report that running my solo practice seems to be working! So for my first blog post I’m going to tell you a little bit about the practice.
I started out as a simple DBA and am now operating under Madan Law PLLC (I even have an employee now!). Madan Law PLLC specializes in helping businesses of all sizes solve their intellectual property and business law needs. The goal is to provide clients with high quality legal services coupled with a close, personal relationship, and all at a fraction of the cost you will pay BigLaw.
I asked one of my clients to write a testimonial, here is what she said:
“Leela Madan is an amazing lawyer. I have worked with Leela on several occasions and she is one of the most professional but caring people I have met. She has helped me with my non-profit orphanage and she is so compassionate but direct and to the point! She has also helped me with my own business issues and is just amazing to work with! I would recommend her to any and everyone that needs professional help!”
I almost cried! I texted her to say thank you and she said “…you’re not the typical lawyer and I’m so appreciative of that…I appreciate your honesty and kindness!” This type of feedback has helped me affirm that I am in the right profession and that opening my own practice was the right move.
One of my goals in opening my law firm is to give my clients this type of personal experience. I want to give real people a real lawyer who is available to them by phone, email, or text any time. My goals are not to rip people off or lie to them, and I’m proud to say that I’m succeeding in this goal!
So finally, I just want to say that I’m so happy to be sitting here writing this blog! I’ve never been happier as an attorney and I hope to pass that energy on to both my clients and colleagues. Welcome to Madan Law PLLC!
