Photographer Carol M. Highsmith received a letter that accused her of copyright infringement for use of her OWN photos on her website… What?! Getty Images is being sued for alleged copyright infringement of her 18,755 photos, which Highsmith had given to the Library of Congress for FREE use by the public. Getty Images has been charging people to use and license her photos without her permission. Also, Getty Images did not credit her for any of the photos used.
Tsk tsk… Looks like Getty Images needs to take their own photos and not use others’ as theirs.
